Prize winning paintings from our spring 2024 exhibition

Colin Twinn won the award from Cassons Framing with 'Box Hill from Denbies'.

Denise Doran won the Barbara Johnson memorial award with 'Bedroom Study'.

John Hutchens won the first prize award from Denbies Vineyard for 'On the beach, Perranporth'.

Douglas Winter won the second prize award from Denbies Vineyard with 'Boat on Props'.

Sara Lucas won the third prize award from Denbies Vineyard with 'Seascape 1'. This painting also received the greatest number of visitor votes, so Sarah will be awarded the visitors vote prize at our autumn exhibition.

Brian Ingram won the Pullingers award from Pullingers Graphic and Fine Art Supplies for 'Headley Heath in May'.

We are grateful to our guest of honour, Vicky Kirby from South Street Gallery, Dorking, for awarding the prizes at our spring exhibition.

We sold lots of these lovely 20 cm x 20 cm paintings done by our 'Tuesday' group, in aid of the DAiSY charity.

DGA NEWS

We are delighted to announce the winners of the prizes awarded at the DGA's spring exhibition, in Betchworth Village Hall. Photos of the winners and their paintings are here.

The visitors' vote was won by Sara Lucas for the painting Seascape 1.
Brian Ingram won the Pullingers award from Pullingers Graphic and Fine Art Supplies.
The prizes donated by Denbies Wine Estate went to John Hutchens (1st); Douglas Winter (2nd); Sara Lucas (3rd).
The Barbara Johnson Memorial Award went to Denise Doran.
Colin Twinn won the prize from Cassons Framing.
Allison Graham won the visitors' vote prize from the autumn 2023 exhibition.

We are delighted to be sponsoring the charity DAiSY at our spring exhibition in Betchworth Village Hall 3rd-6th May 2024. DAiSY supports D/deaf, disabled and neurodiverse artists in Surrey. Paintings by our members who meet on Tuesdays will be on sale at a very reasonable price in aid of DAiSY - come along and check them out!

April 2nd 2024: two paintings by DGA committee member Denise Doran have been selected for the Society of Women Artists Annual Open Exhibition in the Mall Galleries in June. They are 'Walkies' and 'Summer Teatime'. Congratulations, Denise!

Congratulations to two of our members who have had paintings accepted for the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA)'s annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries. See the photos of the paintings, below.

Alan Brown's painting 'View of Ripley High Street from the green' was done at a Surrey Hills Plein Air Artists meeting. He found this small green overlooking the High Street and was taken by the lovely old oak tree on the right of the painting.

Christine Marchant's ink paintings 'Bunny and peonies' and 'Cat and Blossom' were both accepted for the exhibition.
