There are two kinds of DGA membership: non-exhibiting and exhibiting membership. All members join initially as non-exhibiting members.
NON-EXHIBITING MEMBERSHIP
Annual subscription £30 renewed Jan 2nd each year.
All new members join as non-exhibiting (NE) members. NE membership entitles you to join in with the well-organised summer and winter painting programmes run on Tuesday mornings all year round.
All members receive a copy of the spring and autumn newsletters, a programme of events, entitlement to 10% discount at some local art suppliers and a copy of the constitution. For each DGA exhibition, members receive a private view invitation for themselves and a guest (includes wine).
We always welcome new members, of any artistic ability, who are interested in the group’s aims. We especially welcome those who live locally (within a ten mile radius of Dorking) and are willing to take part fully in the group’s activities. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18.

Once you are a member you then have the option to apply for Exhibiting Membership.
EXHIBITING MEMBERSHIP
Annual subscription £35 renewed Jan 2nd each year.
Next selection panel is on January 22nd 2025
You need to join as a member of the DGA before applying for exhibiting membership. Members can present their work to a selection committee. Selection takes place twice a year, in January and June/July. If you are accepted as an exhibiting member you are required to pay an extra £5 for exhibiting membership, and you can submit paintings to the twice yearly exhibitions of members’ work. As an exhibiting member you are expected to help at exhibitions, for example with setting up, taking down or stewarding.
Please read the selection criteria, as a guide to what the selection committee is looking for (PDF download at the bottom of the page).

Members’ Tip: If you are interested in applying for exhibiting membership, it is worth helping out with the set up one of the exhibitions to get a better understanding of what is involved. It also helps if you have been to see our exhibitions to see the standard of work on display!
